The investigation and settlement are likely to have broad ramifications on the industry for several reasons, including the novel fraud theory used to prosecute the case and the new requirements imposed by the HHS Office of Inspector General's (OIG) corporate integrity agreement.

On Tuesday, December 4, Marilyn May, the lead federal prosecutor, and South Carolina Assistant Deputy Attorney General William Gambrell, the lead state prosecutor, will examine the investigation and settlement in a timely audioconference.
